So now that I am feeling a million bucks again. I thought I best update old bloggy with my radio activity in the last couple of weeks.
Last week a dear friend of the rock and roll community past away.
He was a great inspiration to me and supported me over the 4 years I worked at Cherry with my DJ'ing and music. One of the few legends that make everyone feel great when you are around them. And one of the last true gentlemen.
He will be greatly missed.
I dedicated this week purely to Ross. And was joined by his close family and loved ones. You can listen to it here:
Thanks for everyone's support over this sad time. And thanks Ross for making me a better person. xxx

Melbourne: The System has lost the plot down here.

Hey Friends,

There is some messed up business going on in Melbourne at the moment.

Cops are bashing the crap out of innocent people and it is really scary.

If you can tolerate watching violence please watch this revolting video.
These shameful assholes are making my peaceful, humble and beautiful city a fucking blood bath. I want to puke.

My good friend Emily Dawson told me that her mate and his dad (innocent bystanders) got pulled into this mess of lunacy just because they are watching.

There is a role for the police man and this is not it. Maybe if our government spent some of the money they are wasting on bashing the shit out of people on actual crimes such as sexual abuse our world would be less retarded.

But no, this is what we get for doing peaceful protests.
No wonder I walk out my house these days thinking I'm going to be shot.

Lucky there are good people everywhere. Unfortunately they are mixed in with selfish brats.

It's the revolution of love people say it how it is. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Inspiring tunes to get you the hell out of bed!

(This is what I want to doooo alllll day........... balls )-: )

Sooo it's been one of those weeks that getting out of bed has been the hardest bit about the day. I just want to lock myself away from this mean world and spoon my teddies and read about Joe Strummer all day and night and not see or talk to anyone.

But I have my big gig today so I am just going to harden the fuck up and get amongst the land of the living. Life's to short or something.

These are my friends that helped me get up this morning. Thanks amigos. x

Ruby Soho Lyrics: Ziggy The Robot

I'll  be playing this one tomorrow. I think I was 14 when I wrote it... I couldn't figure out how to play blackbird by The Beatles... so I just used my new finger picking abilities to write a song about my robot friend Ziggy... one of my many imaginary friends as a young lady.

Ziggy The Robot- By Ruby Soho (age 14)
Intro

Ziggy the robot has enough of this world
The industry, the diligence have gambled the last of his truths
All he sees now is the sloth in the minds
All the pretty faces are just ignorant and blind.
What is there to do? times 2

Verse Prelude
Running in a circle just floating around
Running in that cirlcle but can't find the ground

Verse 1.
So its all taken over and you no longer understand
You are the material world you silly grey man
The world made of lies what do you know?
All it was meant to be was a quick little show.

Bridge
Innocence, arrogance, jealousy, dream
Hatred and death aren't all that they seem
The spirit of truth if only it existed
But the struggle is now how we all missed it

Verse 2
Ziggy's life seems so incomplete
He debates his romances and stumbles his feet
The lord and his blessings they no longer apply
For he was never the one that came out dry

Outro
Running in a circle just floating around
Running in that cirlcle but can't find the ground

Ruby Soho Lyrics: No Remorse

This is a song I wrote about pedophiles and rapists. It's pretty gorry.. I think you'll get the point.

I wrote it after someone hacked into my computer as a 16 year old and sent an image of me half nude to a bunch of my guy friends. It wasn't pretty. Old benedictine nun Ruby couldn't handle it.

Whoever that cockhead was fuck you and this is the song I wrote about you.

Oh and once again to the police force who said they could do nothing about it? What can they do, I ask sometimes.

Whatever it was a violation of privacy and I was pissed. Lucky I had my guitar to vent on,

No Remorse Lyrics... By Ruby Soho

Verse 1.
If I had a razor I'd use it on your throat
Rip out all your insides and then feed them to a goat
The Pain that you;d be suffering would make you fly astray
I'd leave you there 20 years or so until my pain was paid

Chorus
And the funniest thing about doing this
Is I would feel no remorse I'd watch it a million times over
And still want to see it more... more.... more

Verse 2.
If I had a pen I would fill it full of acid
Shove it in your eye and watch you die inplacid
I'd watch it tear up your skin
and then eat your insides and heart from within

Chorus
And the funniest thing about doing this
Is I would feel no remorse I'd watch it a million times over
And still want to see it more... more.... more

Verse 3.
If I was satan I would remove your soul (if you had one)
Suck it out of you until you were bluer than the ocean
I'd leave your harmless corpse and still feel no remorse
My life would be so complete I'd be in pure bliss....

Chorus
And the funniest thing about doing this
Is I would feel no remorse I'd watch it a million times over
And still want to see it more... more.... more

New York Dolls @ Globe Warehouse... Then Party Time in MELBOURNE!

Heading down to see New York Dolls @ The Globe Warehouse in Port Melbourne!

I'm so excited I could barf.

WOOOP!

The day was absolutely rad... skater babes and hot girls everywhere!
The Dolls played an epic set to maybe 800 people?
It was zehr radical. I love Melbourne.

I went and watched some epic bands afterwards to.

Kangaroo Skull at the Forum... 10 points to Ben for pulling off an epic performance by himself in that huge amazing theatre. It was mind blowing.

Then I made it down to Pony to catch Kamikaze Trio for  the first time since I saw them at the Jay Reatard tribute gig, the week after Jay died... They are so rad it's ridiculous.

And if that wasn't all enough Digger and The Pussy Cats did the 2am show at Pony as well.
They're sooo the funniest dudes ever. I've had this song in my head all week. So erotic.

Great night.

Thanks to GG, Bonnie and Vez for following me on my crazy punk rock rampage around the best city in the world Melbourne town. xxxx

Ruby Soho Lyrics: Devil's Advocate

So this one is pretty intense.. standard Soho behaviour... I wrote it a couple of months ago when I was listening to a Fiona Apple CD.

It's about my last relationship and the feeling you get when you betray someone you love in a physical manner. Eg... being a pashrat because you're not ready for commitment. And then hurting the person that loves you most because of careless actions.

Here it is.

Devil's Advocate by Ruby Soho

I feel like the devil's advocate
How do I ride my soul of these sins?
I broke a man I took him for all he had
I opened his heart and sucked it dry

Chorus:
God if your there can you help me
Can you save me from the spitting gates of hell
Can you forgive my heart and make it right
Can you lift this terror from my soul?

I'm to scared to walk to the next point now
My wings have been clipped and I can no longer fly
I've numbed my soul and I've wrapped it up
I'm no longer scared to die

Chorus:
God if your there can you help me
Can you save me from the spitting gates of hell
Can you forgive my heart and make it right
Can you lift this terror from my soul?

I am the devils advocate
There is no way of saving my soul now
He broke me and took me for all I had
And now we're both no longer scared to die

I'll be playing this Sunday at my launch show at the Tote... If you are around come and get among the festivities of awesomeness. I'll be on at 6.30.

Finishing Bunny Monroe September Residency

So we finished the Cherry residency last week with Bunny Monroe.

Thanks to all those that came down and supported.. We got better every week and we had the most wonderful time. Thanks James Young again for all the support you've given us and the girls over the last few months. And to the lovely bar staff at Cherry for hooking us up with a few pints of beer and shots of Jager.

An especially BIG thanks to Carbie Warbie one of Melbourne's best rock and roll photographers, for turning up and capturing these shots. He does it all out of the love for music! Have no doubt about that. So make sure you buy him a beer if you see him around town.

Golden Plains 2012 with Rocky Erickson

OMG!

My rock and roll god playing Golden Plains! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Seeing Roky Erickson at my favorite place in the world, the Meredith stage.

I watched him in Antwerp with Grace last Meredith and it made up for me missing it... but to have him there is going to be a dream come true.
Sick! Bon Iver is going to be great too... I can't wait to find out what else is going to be on the line up.

What a man, what a voice, what a solid guitarist. xxxxxx

Also a dream boat. Bon Iver
